Rajasthan to Launch Census 2027 from May 1; Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma Urges Public Participation

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma announces Census 2027 starting May 1, 2026, urging citizens to participate in self-enumeration and assist census personnel for accurate data collection to support the vision of a developed Rajasthan and India.

 

In a significant administrative announcement, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Wednesday morning issued a video message through his social media handle addressing the residents of the state, declaring that the Census 2027 will commence across Rajasthan from May 1.

In his address, Sharma stated that from May 1 to May 15, 2026, citizens will be able to complete ‘self-enumeration’. This will be followed by the second phase, during which census personnel will conduct door-to-door enumeration of houses from May 16 to June 14, 2026. Highlighting the logistical scale of the exercise, the Chief Minister noted that Rajasthan, being the largest state in the country in terms of geographical area, will require census workers to travel long distances to reach households.

He appealed to the public to uphold Rajasthan’s tradition of hospitality and extend full cooperation to the census personnel by providing accurate information. Emphasizing the importance of public participation, Sharma said that the correct data shared today will play a crucial role in realizing the vision of a ‘developed Rajasthan’ and a ‘developed India’.

The announcement outlines both the administrative framework and the public responsibility tied to the upcoming census process. The Chief Minister’s message underscores the critical role of accurate data collection in shaping future governance, planning, and development initiatives across the state.
